Nightmares - by Dave Ormiston, a Gulf War Veteran

We walked along a desert track, we see a sight that knocks us back
Smashed up bodies, burnt of skin, teeth are white, bones are "thin".
Dig a hole dig it deep, we stop a while to have a weep.
I sweat, I wake with a scream, my wife shouts ok! It was just a dream.
I look around to see whats wrong, its alright the nightmares gone.
