Title :  Nerve gas caused Gulf War illness, genetic study finds

The NGVFA welcome a report called "Evaluation of a Gene-Environment Interaction of PON1 and Low-Level Nerve Agent Exposure with Gulf War Illness" (Haley Et al) announced today 11th May 2022.

This report may well bring some understanding of the underlying causes of some Gulf War Illnesses. Gulf War veterans have been suffering for many years with no explanation of why they were so badly affected by serving in the Gulf War.

For 30 years they have been disowned, ignored and lied to by consecutive Governments, with no positive answers to their questions about exposure to toxic substances and gases and the affect it had on them both physically and mentally.

For the survivors, at last they may find hope and optimism. We hope the UK Government takes this report on board and will respond by offering Gulf Veterans access/opportunity to have the tests. This will hopefully lead to more meaningful and proper medical treatment which they have for too long been denied.

A copy of the report is available to our members from our document library.
